Ephesians 3:16-20 (Personal Version):

God, I pray that from Your glorious, unlimited resources You will empower me with inner strength through Your Spirit. And Jesus, please make Your home in my heart (through Your Spirit) and help me to trust in You. Make my roots grow down into Your love and keep me strong. And give me the power to understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep Your love is for me. May I experience Your love, though it is too great to understand fully. For when I understand Your love, I will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from You.

Now all glory be to You, Father, for You are able, through Your mighty power at work within me, to accomplish infinitely more than I might ever ask or think.

When we understand the Father's love, we will then be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from Him. How do we understand a love that is too great to understand fully? Experience and understanding of God's love is not an intellectual pursuit. I think it requires the deepest surrender and humility-letting go of control, laying down dreams, counting the cost of following Jesus, and humbly receiving His gift of salvation, love, and power. Saying, "Yes. My life is Yours, and nothing else matters but the world knowing You through my little laid down life."

The Lord has been convicting me recently to give up social media, stop trying to build a platform and become a published author, and to stop trying to change my job/income situation. When we relinquish control, loosen our tightened fists, and settle into true contentment, God begins to move the way He wants to-in the way only He can move. For so long my focus has been on planning and doing, never just being and trusting He is at work. I am living in His plan for me as I rest in His presence.
